This seminar is aimed at people working in institutions and companies whose activity is the dissemination of culture or training, to publishers and to educational and cultural websites, and in general to all those interested or involved in publishing.
Electronic publishing has an important place in today's world because it represents a very active R+D sector that affects the propagation and dissemination of knowledge, including marketing.
Within the broad meaning of the concept of electronic publishing, this seminar focuses on the electronic book. Today the term refers to both the hardware and software that facilitate the reading of a work in general devices: PCs, Palms, etc.
Our purpose is to give potential users an idea of the possibilities currently offered by the electronic book through the analysis of various aspects such as:
- The underlying format of proposals, which are in various stages of implementation and that have a connection with marketing systems
- The devices specially created for reading
- New approaches to formats and devices in the publishing sector (author-publisher-distributor-seller-reader)
- The hybrid products represented by Print on Demand, that is, traditional books created on demand from an electronic file.
