The vibrant cultural activity in Spanish and other co-official languages of Spain raises the question whether it is accompanied by a proportional development on the Internet, both mirror and tool in contemporary society. To answer this question we must clear up some points: Is it possible to know the number of pages in Spanish and other co-official languages on the Web and compare it with the number in other languages? Are there ways to objectively judge the quality of these pages? Is their cultural content serving the communities that generate them, and also other communities? How do individuals behave on the Web? And in social and cultural terms, which actions would be desirable for Spanish speaking population and the speakers of other co-official languages in Spain to take on the Web? Can those actions be coordinated with other languages and cultures on the Internet?
The analysis of these issues was the subject of this day-long seminar, which internauts were able to follow live on the Silver Age web site. Click Papers to see all the videos (in Spanish).
