A series of events were organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Juan Ramón Jiménez's Nobel Prize in order to pay tribute and disseminate the figure and work of the poet from the town of Moguer. This exhibition is one of the highlights, offering a look into his life and work through a wide variety of documents, carefully selected to offer a complete picture of Juan Ramón Jiménez's contribution to Spanish contemporary poetry.
The exhibition included first editions of his major works, books he published with other poets, contributed as editor or wrote their prologue. Periodicals that he created or collaborated with, numerous letters, manuscripts and documents from private collections and institutional archives, such as the Juan Ramón Jiménez Foundation, in Moguer, and the Archivo Histórico Nacional, Madrid were shown. The Sala Zenobia-Juan Ramón Jiménez, at the University of Puerto Rico, provided a number of extremely relevant documents from the Nobel Prize presentation. TVE and the Sociedad Estatal de Conmemoraciones Culturales produced the documentary Juan Ramón Jiménez, la obra en marcha, (Javier González, producer, and Manuel Armán, scrip writer/director), which was shown at the exhibition.
